Screening Process

(8 – Phase Screening takes 1-2 weeks on average)

All Best Nannies has the most rigorous nanny/caregiver and sitter screening process in the Chicago and suburbs. Our ongoing rigorous  background checks ensure that whether a caregiver is sent out to your home for one day, or has been employed by your family for four years, you will always have security and peace of mind.

Each permanent and temporary candidate:

  • Undergoes a prescreening qualifying telephone interview (usually lasts 30-45 minutes)
  • Participates in an extensive interview face-to-face (when not possible, this interview is conducted over the telephone)
  • Has each individual reference checked and former employment verified by our agent
  • Has all previous non-childcare employment verified
  • Is checked by a private security agency for any past criminal record, as well as for driver’s license status, driving record and Social Security number confirmation and previous address history and sex offender registry
  • Is verified for CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to become certified (we appreciate the family’s support in encouraging the nanny to complete this requirement within the first month of employment)
  • Can provide DCFS Child Abuse Report (from Illinois Department of Children and Family Services)
  • Provides Doctors Physical in the last 12 months

Our agency minimum requirements are:

  • 20 years of age
  • 2 years experience related to position
  • 2 references (no family or friends, please!)
  • 2 Character references
  • Clean background
  • Some college preferred/High School graduate required
  • Legal status
  • Physical exam in last 12 months
  • Good English (for European and Spanish speaking nanny candidates)
  • CPR/First Aid Training or willingness to complete

Our primary job is to gather detailed information on prospective candidate and pass that information along to you, our client.
